Closing Ceremony: Say Their Names

All Saints Day 2020 at 4PM as the sun sets.  (Please note sunset will be about 1 hour earlier Nov. 1st than the day before.  Daylight savings time begins Sunday at 2 AM.)

A movement meditation by Elisa Monte Dance in response to the Memorial Field for Black Lives at the John Brown Farm.

Choreography by Tiffany Rea-Fisher, Artistic Director of Elisa Monte Dance, a modern dance company based in New York City.  Tiffany is also Director of Lake Placid School of Dance.

In their meditation, the Elisa Monte Dancers will use gestural phrases developed by the African Piragramac technique which is centered in spiritual development and prepares the dance body for all forms of rhythmic and syncopated movement.  The event will culminate in a call and response with the audience to say the names of the victims of wrongful deaths as described in the Memorial Field for Black Lives, an installation by Karen Davidson Seward.

Masking, social distancing, and sign-up in upon arrival for contact tracing are required of all.  Advance registration is required by clicking HERE.
